Slithery, sneaky and scary, snakes, lizards and reptiles in general aren’t exactly cute and cuddly. They ARE though, some of the coolest-looking animals on the planet. Historically serpents have been used in art and literature as a symbol of fertility, birth and regeneration, guardianship and protection, venom and medicine. Multifaceted, powerful but dangerous. Due to their cold blood, lizards were sometimes seen as seekers of light and enlightenment.
